Display driver can crash explorer in Windows 7

If your windows 7 explorer crashes frequently, then it may possible that the cause is display driver. The display driver may not be compatible with the windows 7 you are using. Even the latest driver provided by the graphics card manufacturer may cause the problem.
Disable your graphics card driver service from “Computer Management >> Services and applications >> Services“. And restart your computer. If the problem was because of graphics card driver, then problem should be solved now.
You should not just install the latest driver provided by the graphics card manufacturer. A better way is, let your windows 7 find the best driver for your graphics card.
Update Graphics Card Driver in Windows 7:
- Open Device manager
- Expand “Display Adapters” >> Right click the display adapter and select “Update Driver Software..”
- Your computer must be connected to internet. Now windows 7 will search best driver for your display adapter. Install the driver and restart your computer.
